The dress was purchased from Amanda's Bridal in Redmond, WA in the spring of 2008. The Yelp reviews of that shop are mixed, but I had a great experience while there. My mom accompanied me for the shopping trip; we had a wonderful time.
I got married in this dress in a ceremony in Seattle. It was August, yet because of the rain the wedding was held indoors. . .which actually ended up making the day more lovely, because the ceremony was in an amazing Native American cultural center. I'll never forget the sound of the rain on that roof.
I am no longer married to the man I stood with at the altar that day, but we are still very close friends who simply were not meant to be lovers. There has never been anything but joy and excitement associated with this dress.
The dress itself is the perfect combination of simplicity and elegance, and I absolutely loved wearing it. Its sweetheart neckline creates a lovely front view, and the asymmetrical ruching provides volume without bulk. The substantial nature of the silk truly made me feel like the center of the universe. . .and the lace-up detail on the back is divine.
I would love for this Maggie Sottero gown to be a part of your special day.
